197A straight female author of Western romances discusses online subculture of “slash fiction” and fans who reinvent pop-culture film and television characters as bisexual men. The author explores the underground nature of women’s interest in male sexuality and argues that bisexual men have a central place in the imagination of a small but growing women’s community.
