ABSTRACT

13New Orleans folklore tells of a gigantic subterranean serpent that lives and feeds on human sexual energy and activity aboveground, regardless of gender. From his native Louisiana hometown, the “Bi(g) Easy,” to the “Big Apple,” New York City, the author appreciates how he relates differently with men and women, and recounts his prepubescent, adolescent, and adult sexual explorations with both sexes. In an exotic yet familiar culture where little is forbidden and much is permitted, New Orleans residents and tourists alike break traditional sexual boundaries when they let the good times roll.
