ABSTRACT

Art presented for treatment in 1997 as a 30-year-old heterosexual, white Jewish male with a significant history of depression, severe family tensions, and concerns regarding his sexuality. He was not in any romantic relationships, and while acknowledging prior interest in and sexual involvement with men, complained of not being able to find “the right girl.” Art had also experienced several professional setbacks, and suffered from “feeling stalled” in his chosen career.
