ABSTRACT
The traditional terrace-house plan is as relevant today as it was two centuries ago but the size and shape of the footprint is crucial to its flexibility for future change and to the quality of life of its occupants. It also clearly defines the cut-off between the public and private realms, and it makes good use of land.
