ABSTRACT

Leg muscle strength is an important factor in playing soccer. It is clear from Asami and Togari's (1968) report that there is a close correlation between the knee extension strength and ball speed. Recently the isokinetic principle has been used to evaluate dynamic strength in many branches of sports sciences. Muscle strength of soccer players has been studied by a number of techniques. Isokinetic data have been reported by Oberg et al. (1984), Poulmedis (1985), and Kirkendall (1985).
