ABSTRACT
Different definitions of evaluation abound. The Australian Curriculum Development Centre (CDC) Study Group on curriculum evaluation reviewed a variety of definitions with currency in the evaluation literature and adopted the following one as the most useful guide for the evaluation of CDC’s own projects and programmes and for curriculum evaluation more generally: ‘Evaluation is the process of delineating, obtaining and providing information useful for making decisions and judgments about educational programs and curricula’. 1
