ABSTRACT
In South Africa, as is the case worldwide, the rate of married women entering the labor market continues to rise, thus creating one of the most significant social trends of our times which could affect marital adjustment and family stability. Conventional wisdom holds that employment of married women and marital dissolution are causally related–a view supported by some of the earlier as well as more recent research results.
