ABSTRACT

We are pleased to present to you in this issue what no doubt is the first, to our knowledge, of many collections of practice oriented papers on sensory integrative applications in occupational therapy. No topic seems to have aroused more widespread interest and curiosity than this now broadly applied theory originated by A. Jean Ayres. Therefore, it is fitting that the guest editor, Zoe Mailloux, who has known and worked with Jean over many years and is now the clinical and administrative director of the Ayres Clinic, in Torrance, California, has dedicated the issue to her. It is little enough to acknowledge in this way one who has had such a profound impact on occupational therapy practice and research.
