ABSTRACT
The terms that follow are no longer a part of the official psychiatric nomenclature. They are presented here for historical reasons. The Editors have found widespread interest in the terms, even though only a few are currently accepted. Except in a historical context, the Editors do not endorse the use of these labels. The Greek and Latin terms used to label phobic disorders (and their English equivalents) are listed below.
