ABSTRACT

This chapter describes the classical group method of psychodramatic dream work and contrasts it with approaches suitable for the one-to-one frame. Material from two clients is used to illustrate the application of both projective and role-based techniques to unpack and explore the subjective meaning of dream material for the clients. Importance is placed on the therapeutic alliance and the significance of the relationship with the therapist in the here and now. Role analysis is used to link the dream work with the ongoing process of psychotherapy.
