ABSTRACT

Most students choose to major in music because they can’t imagine doing anything else-it’s a choice born out of passion for the art and fueled by a desire to perform, create, or teach. It’s likely a mentor counseled you about what it’s like to study music-warning you that the road to becoming a musician is a difficult one, fraught with challenges that require self-determination and commitment. Undeterred, you choose to persevere; music is what you do, who you are.
