ABSTRACT
Use either the ii7 in the major mode or i7 in the minor mode as your point of reference. Minor seventh chords frequently sound like predominant chords, especially when heard in the major mode. Listen for
the fifth and seventh wanting to resolve down by step to a dominant seventh chord and then to tonic in the major mode. This three-chord progression is characteristic of the minor seventh chord.
