“I Already Know How to Read!”

Four-year-old Sarah crawled into the back seat of the van and Aunt Elaine settled in after her. While they waited for the rest of the family, they chatted. Sarah excitedly shared that on her upcoming birthday she’d be 5 years old and go to kindergarten. Aunt Elaine asked, “What are you going to do in kindergarten? Are you going to learn how to read?” Without hesitating Sarah very matter-of-factly replied, “I already know how to read!”
