ABSTRACT
The aim of this postscript to the earlier article is twofold. The first goal is to reply to the comments received by the Journal of Bioeconomics, where it was first published, and in this way to clarify the points made in the article by comparing them with alternative views of human nature and human evolution. The second objective is to point out the relevance of the long-term analysis, as used in the article, for the present crisis.
