ABSTRACT
The Australian government is currently investing up to AUD$43 billion to deploy a high-speed National Broadband Network (NBN) to all Australians (ALP 2011). Due to the vast size of the Australian continent and the concentration of population along the coast, regional and remote areas were not previously serviced with adequate telecommunications infrastructure. The NBN initiative will provide numerous opportunities for individuals, business and government.
