ABSTRACT
This section could easily have been titled “Family: Developmental Contexts and Consequences.” Each paper examines an aspect of black child development in relation to family patterns. The authors were also concerned with determining how different institutional contexts influenced parent-child relationships and children's eventual paths of development.
