Introduction

In Part III, the editors attempt to articulate the various themes regarding the growth and development of black children that have emerged throughout the volume. Five organizing principles considered important to the study of black child development are identified and discussed as well as four organizing perspectives regarded as necessary for empirical assessment of black children.
