ABSTRACT
When Dr. Kanfer called me before the conference and asked for a title of my talk, I replied that “Closing Remarks” would be appropriate. I supposed that such a title would cover almost anything that I might choose to say. Now, of course, I have been influenced by the many clever titles that we have heard here and I have been inspired by the contents of these papers to reflect on this conference from an historical perspective. Hence the present title.
