ABSTRACT
Spanning more than 2 decades, the work of Jan Hawkins has had a profound impact on the technology and education field. Jan began her career in educational technology as a founding member of the Center for Children and Technology. In 1991 she became the Director of the Center. In September 1999 Jan joined the faculty of the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and continued to codirect the Center for Children and Technology until her death in the winter of 1999. Her intellectual handprint on our work in the learning sciences field is unmistakable.
