ABSTRACT
The inpatient treatment of anorexia nervosa has been a neglected topic in the academic literature over the last two decades. This has partly been due to the explosion of interest in the assessment and treatment of bulimia nervosa. In North America, there has been some decrease in interest in inpatient treatment because of the very difficult situations that have been encountered as a result of marked constraints in the funding of inpatient treatments.
