ABSTRACT
The “fit” between natural thought and the various early systems of formal logic proposed by logicians is often poor, but this fact is rarely contested by contemporary philosophers and scientists. Improving the fit between the early models and natural thought, however, is not the goal of contemporary logicians. Most works of logic merely mention in passing that certain concrete interpretations can be given to the logical symbols of standard theorems that produce phrases that the entire world would agree are absurd.
