ABSTRACT
Among the intriguing things about many of the chapters in this book, and about Ramirez’ chapter in particular, are the basic questions they raise about cross-disciplinary research. Central among these are the dual questions of the differences in the nature of the canons of proof in the various sciences and how such differences should be accommodated when researchers from different disciplines with distinctly different canons of proof focus on a given area such as gerontology.
