Type A Behavior in the Work Setting: A Review and Some New Data

In this chapter our aim is to provide an overview of field research that has examined the Type A behavior pattern in the context of job stress. We have organized the review around a causal model that attempts to link the Type A pattern to sources of job stress. We conclude the review with a discussion of some of our own findings regarding the reactivity of Type A workers to job stress.
