ABSTRACT
In the early 1980s, population surveys in both Canada and the United States examined the incidence of the sexual abuse of children and revealed startlingly high rates. Many programs have since been developed to educate children, parents, and professionals in the hope that information could prevent the sexual abuse of new victims.
