ABSTRACT
Timing relates to the temporal relationships between the components of an integrated system. The integrated system can be the organism, a subsystem such as learning or memory, or a macrosystem such as a social group or society. The concept of timing owes its importance to the view that it is the relationship between components or subsystems that determines the characteristics of any system.
