ABSTRACT
In 1954, the Congrès international de psychologie scientifique held its annual meeting in Montréal. Piaget was one of the guest speakers, and during his stay, his first in the province of Québec, he met the few developmental psychologists who worked at the relatively new Department of Psychology of the University of Montréal. Piaget, who never learned to speak English, was delighted to find a nucleus of researchers who were already familiar with his work and … who spoke French.
