In one of his celebrated stage performances, the hitherto publicly asexual megastar Michael Jackson grabbed his crotch and thrust his lower body forward in a distinctly carnal manner. He explained later on the Oprah Winfrey show that the incident was a subliminal response to the music. Some irresistible message lurking beneath the innocuous lyrics had evidently afflicted the singer’s motor coordination and sense of propriety in a most unnerving manner, reducing him to a state of self-focused gonad groping.
