ABSTRACT
Implicit memory is one of the central concepts in this book. Although the term is of recent origin (Graf & Schacter, 1985; Schacter, 1987), the phenomena on which the concept is based have been under consideration from at least the early 1970s, and analogous effects can be detected in earlier paradigms.
