ABSTRACT
The purpose of this chapter is to discuss the application of discourse analyses to the oral verbal communicative behavior of traumatically brain-injured (TBI) adults. We begin with a brief overview of executive functions and the consequent disruption of these processes following TBI. The existing literature on discourse analyses in TBI adults is then reviewed in the context of this model and discussed as evidence of impairments in executive functions.
