ABSTRACT
One of the main goals of psycholinguistics is to explain how people understand language. A satisfactory theory of this crucial human ability requires the clarification of the many subprocesses it involves: to name only a few, the perception of spoken and written language, the syntactic parsing of sentences, the use of lexical information.
