ABSTRACT

Redecision family therapy is a brief therapy model that integrates interpersonal and intrapsychic approaches to therapeutic work with families and individuals. Through weaving systems and individual dynamics redecision family therapy seeks: (1) to reconcile the conflict of personal autonomy versus the authority and power of the family system; (2) to reconcile the conflict of individual creativity versus the expression of family tradition; and (3) to reconcile the conflict of personal freedom versus togetherness. Redecision family therapy addresses the ongoing, continuous, dynamic interaction of the family and the individuals who make up the family.
