ABSTRACT
A practitioner engaged in the psychiatric treatment of inpatient adolescents confronts several special legal issues. Although the most commonly confronted legal issues are not substantially different in kind or character from those implicated by the inpatient treatment of adults, the unique legal status of the minor always informs the legal analysis and frequently controls its conclusion.
