ABSTRACT

Mr. and Mrs. Jones, a couple in their early thirties, presented themselves for therapy with a “sex problem.” As the reader will discover, their real concerns were traceable to their families of origin. Their concerns were complex intrapsychic, interactional, and intergenerational issues. Self-esteem, control, rescuing, independence/dependence, and lack of adequate marital boundaries were only a few of the key issues in this interesting case. Despite the complex interlacing of issues and their personal pain and struggle, Mr. and Mrs. Jones are a wonderful, real, and down-to-earth couple simply wanting a better, happier marital relationship.
