ABSTRACT
Legislation recently enacted in Canada dealing with the prosecution of alleged child sexual abuse cases attempted to reduce the possibility of revictimization of child victims/witnesses during the process of testifying in court. This chapter presents an overview of the concept of revictimization, as well as a discussion of a research project designed to evaluate the effectiveness of the new legislation. Based on this discussion, several specific recommendations to professionals dealing with these cases are presented.
