ABSTRACT

In 1983, when he was 15 years old, William Wayne Thompson, along with three older males, ambushed his sister's abusive ex-husband at his home, stabbed the victim multiple times, and then shot him twice. The men tied a cement block to the victim's body and dumped it in a river, where it was found four weeks later. Thompson's three accomplices, all of whom were over 18, were convicted and sentenced to death for this crime. Thompson was waived to adult court after a hearing requested by the prosecutor and was found guilty and sentenced to death.
