ABSTRACT
In this chapter we discuss the impact of institutional experience on the behavior and development of retarded persons. In some cases the findings discussed in this chapter overlap those discussed in Baumeister, 1967; Hagen & Huntsman, 1971; Katz & Rosenberg, 1969). Indeed, several of our colleagues are now trying to separate these two factors.
