ABSTRACT
Allow me to begin with a personal anecdote that has occurred with some frequency. I’ll be at a social gathering and be introduced to a real person (i.e., non-professional, nonscientist). Inevitably I will be asked, “And what is your occupation?” To which I reply, “Oh, I’m a psychologist.”
