ABSTRACT

Mark Twain said that his only duty at any time was to do what he believed was right (Ayres, 1987), and the best advice that can be offered in this chapter is, Follow his lead. Twain answered any question about when student affairs administrators should be ethical; they should “do right” at all times, and not just in their professional roles as educators, leaders, and managers. He omitted a few details for student affairs practice, however, such as what is right, where it is right, why people should do right, and how to do right. Addressing those concerns requires more time but not more commitment from any reader.
