ABSTRACT

Zen Buddhism is primarily a religion, but it possesses an intimate relationship with numerous aspects of human life. The world view and human view as seen from the standpoint of Zen is learned through hearing the teachings of Zen Buddhism. People must divorce themselves from evil and wrong acts. All acts defiled by desire, beginning with evil and wrong acts, are called evil passions in Buddhism. In enlightenment evil acts, wrong acts, good acts, and correct acts all exist. However, they are separated from the relative distinctions of good, evil, right, and wrong, and are all grasped as empty quantities which do not arouse the least attachment. In the world of enlightenment the phenomena and action before one's eyes are released from and free from relative distinction and egoistic attachments.
