ABSTRACT
Hispanic-Americans—Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, and Central Americans in particular—are currently the most educationally disadvantaged group in America. Whether one looks at students’ skill levels, years of school completed, or performance in school, Hispanic students fare worse than any other racial or ethnic group. The educational attainment and achievement of Hispanics has also not been improving as rapidly as other groups.
