Carmelita Estrellita (AKA Natalie Estrellita) is a longtime contributor to First of the Month. Fired up by late stylings of Leonard Cohen—and feeling “murderously C&W”—our favorite transgender rhymer has been especially inspired lately. When Estrellita’s muse started acting out last year, Bob Dylan was singing about listening to Billy Joe Shaver and reading James Joyce, hope he tries Estrellita—s/he’s got the blood of the lamb in her voice.
