ABSTRACT
The social problems of our time – such as poverty, hunger, home-lessness, and educational inequities – are complex and deeply rooted. Many people turn away because these problems are too overwhelming, painful, or removed from their daily lives. Some people, responding to faith, family, or their own moments of obligation, choose to get involved and make a difference.
