ABSTRACT
Over the last 10 years, network coverage of the courts has emphasized individual trials over the judiciary as an institution of government. The cases of O.J. Simpson and Timothy McVeigh, fought out in three trials, account for this vast difference. Time will tell whether these recent trials, with their saturation levels of coverage, represent a new trend in network news.
