ABSTRACT
Post-conflict peacebuilding, at its core, is about preventing the recurrence of widespread and systematic violence. It is, in that sense, a subset of the conflict-prevention sector within the wider security field. How exactly to build peace, which actors should be most centrally involved, and the most appropriate timeframe for ensuring durable results are among the many hotly debated questions associated with the theory and practice of peacebuilding.
