ABSTRACT

The idea that good governance is necessary for a successful society is not a new concept. Governance has evolved over the last thousands of years. The rule of law and its proper enforcement have been subject matters of discussion over several millenniums. With governance is tied up a country's progress and development. A number of organizations, including universi-ties, trade unions, corporations, political parties, and civil society groups, have emerged outside the formal hierarchy of governments having their own rules of governance, and have contributed to the concept of governance and good governance.
