ABSTRACT

If I set out on a trip to a country I’ve never been to before, I have two different ways to plan my trip. I can select a pre-determined itinerary including the sights I expect to see and when I expect to visit them. In this case, I use information about locations, distances, hotels, and restaurants that has already been reported by previous visitors. This leads me to have certain expectations about what I am going to do and see during my trip. Upon my return, much of my report about my trip will be a description of my originally planned itinerary and whether things went according to the plan.
