ABSTRACT

The purpose of this chapter is to review the existing research on task-based assessment centers (TBACs). I will provide a(nother) brief sketch of the history of assessment centers (ACs) as backdrop to the recent resurgence in interest in TBACs as an alternative design strategy to more traditional dimension-based ACs (DBACs), summarize what is known about TBACs to date, and suggest some directions for future research on TBACs.
