ABSTRACT

Taxonomy is the art or science of identifying and classifying natural objects by type. It addresses the questions why is the world so diverse and how are we to make sense of it all? Putting things into groups is like explaining. It can be a dry activity, painstakingly carried out in a museum, but it has also seemed to appeal to some scientists as a way of understanding God’s plan in creation. To them, the order and the variety of nature seemed designed, evidences of a world in which the needs of every creature were provided for.
