ABSTRACT
There are many ways to begin telling a traditional tale, but perhaps the most significant of them all is to close the story book. In this chapter we will explore speaking and listening in relation to storytelling, and in particular the role of the teacher as the principal storyteller in a classroom community of storytellers.
