Introduction Joti, Harry, Isobel and Gurdeep, four Year 2 pupils, were fi lming a sequence of shots using a digital video camera to provide instructions for visitors to help them navigate around their school. Joti and Harry were being guided by Gurdeep on where to stand. Gurdeep stood back and evaluated the image she could see through her camera,

‘Stand closer and look this way.’ ‘If you pan left and right slowly, you’ll be able to see all of the playground,’

suggested Isobel and they all agreed. As the fi lming started, Isobel counted in the presenters who introduced themselves, welcomed potential visitors to their school and gave clear explanations and instructions on routes around the school.
